Purpose of Advertising:
Purpose of advertising is to get the product out there and let the viewers know the product exists and they need to show the message of the brand.
What is a Target Market:
A target market is where the company aims its marketing efforts and resources towards a narrower set of target audiences compared to everyone who is watching.
How does advertising work:
Advertising works in many ways. The company wants to deliver there message to the audience and to make there advert remembered and for the advert to be spoken about. Advertisement can be anywhere, Television, Radio, Billboards etc. As long as its message gets across to the targeted audience and used effectively then they are doing advertisement correctly.
What is reach:
Reach is where the company gets there message across to a number of different people or households, Who will see the advert at least once. However, this does not mean that it will get there message across to that household or person but they would of still seen it.
What is frequency:
Frequency is where it targets a set audience and does it repeatedly to get them to remember there message and product. Some adverts need to be replayed a number of times until it gets to the selected audience of which they can remember it and that is what frequency does.
What sort of things does an advert agency spend its money on:
Advert agency's consists of a wide group of people, of which are the planners, Copy Writers, Art Directors, Producers and Media Planners. They will spend about 10-15% of there product making the v advert and buying the required sources for that advert, Then the remaining of there budget will go towards the TV airing companies who will air there advert online to reach the audience.
How important is USP:
the unique selling point is very important for companies as they are targeting a set audience and relying on them seeing the product and buying the product. Without there unique targeted audience they wouldn't make almost as much sales due to there not being a targeted group.
Why might an advert campaign fail:
Advert campaigns could possibly fail due to many reasons, some of which are: The message. If the message of the brand isn't clear and isn't good for the desired age group who would normally buy that product then there advert campaign would have failed. Another reason an advert campaign might fail is it not reaching the desired audience and this could be due to a number of reasons. The first reason is due to it not being repetitive, some adverts will have to be repetitive for the desired audience to see it and for them to actually think they want it and need it. Another reason could be the timing of the advert. If the advert is about for example a film in the daytime then teenagers and adults wont be able to see the advert due to them being at work and college.
